Library Services

David City Library provides the following services to the public:

  • The automated catalog system allows subject, author, title, and keyword searching of the library's collection in house and on-line.
  • Electronic Information Databases
    • Electronic Resources such as FirstSearch, netlibrary, and others are available though library computers and at home for searching full-text articles and books, citations and abstracts in periodical literature.

    • These databases from the Nebraska Library Commission are available to Nebraska residents. Stop by the library for information including the necessary logins and passwords, or click here for information.

    Library Services

    • Wired and Wireless Internet access offers additional information on virtually any subject.
    • Newspapers from local, state and national agencies are located in the Reading Area. One week‘s worth of papers are kept in the Reading Area; one month‘s worth are kept in storage.
    • The McNaughton Collection of Popular Reading is available in the regular fiction and non-fiction collection. This includes titles in science fiction, romance, mystery, and general fiction and non-fiction materials.
    • Reference resources, including encyclopedias, atlases, travel kits, etc., are available in the Reference Area.
    • Nebraska and Butler County non-fiction materials are available in the Heritage Room, along with Butler County newspapers on microfilm, and area school annuals.
